Creating a nonprofit WordPress site at GiveCamp Grand Rapids 2013

Last month I volunteered to help create a WordPress site at GiveCamp Grand Rapids 2013. What's a GiveCamp? From the GiveCamp Grand Rapids site,

GiveCamp is a weekend-long event where technology professionals – from designers, developers and database administrators to marketers and web strategists – donate their time to provide solutions for non-profit organizations.

This was my second GiveCamp; I also participated in GiveCamp Grand Rapids 2012. I enjoy helping nonprofits who don't have the budgets for professional web design/development, learning from other technical volunteers, and honing my skills.

My team helped the Dispute Resolution Center of West Michigan create a new WordPress website. Highlights:

  • attractive, responsive (mobile-friendly) design
  • cleanly formatted content
  • map with contact info
  • photos of board and staff
  • events calendar
  • donation form with one-time and recurring donation options
  • contact form

  1. Chad, we couldn't be happier with our website! We love it! Thanks so much for all your work. I couldn't believe how well the team worked with me on the design, and I also couldn't believe how fast the team put it together

    Kind regards,
