Last month I volunteered to help create a WordPress site at GiveCamp Grand Rapids 2013. What's a GiveCamp? From the GiveCamp Grand Rapids site,
GiveCamp is a weekend-long event where technology professionals – from designers, developers and database administrators to marketers and web strategists – donate their time to provide solutions for non-profit organizations.
This was my second GiveCamp; I also participated in GiveCamp Grand Rapids 2012. I enjoy helping nonprofits who don't have the budgets for professional web design/development, learning from other technical volunteers, and honing my skills.
My team helped the Dispute Resolution Center of West Michigan create a new WordPress website. Highlights:
Chad, we couldn't be happier with our website! We love it! Thanks so much for all your work. I couldn't believe how well the team worked with me on the design, and I also couldn't believe how fast the team put it together
Kind regards,
Victoria Mullen
Program Manager, DRCWM
You're welcome, Victoria! I'm glad to hear that you were, and still are, happy with the site.
I'm going to build a website for a non-profit organization. Frankly speaking, I am thinking about using one of the website builders from https://www.webbuildersguide.com/website-builder-categories/best-website-builders-for-nonprofit-organizations/. As they are created specially for this purpose, I hope for a good result. But your post can persuade anyone that WordPress is a good choice. So, thanks for sharing, I'll think about giving it a try.
Hanna, I'm glad you found my post helpful!
